Stasera (per noi le 2 del mattino) a Santa Monica California si svolgerà la 49° edizione dei Grammy Awards 2007, uno dei premi più importanti degli Stati Uniti (come un Oscar) per i risultati conseguiti nel settore musicale.
La serata si aprirà, pare, con un’esibizione dei Police a cui seguiranno i Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beyoncé, Gnarls Barkley. Quest’anno la favorita è Mary J. Blige con le 8 nomination ricevute. Dietro la cantante R&B, i Red Hot Chili Peppers con 6 nomination. Poco più in giù, con 5 candidature, un nutrito gruppo formato da James Blunt, The Dixie Chicks, John Mayer, Danger Mouse, Prince, Rick Rubin, Will.I.Am e John Williams. ‘Solo’ 4 candidature a testa per la vincitrice di 9 Grammy Beyoncé, Bryan-Michael Cox, Gnarls Barkley, Israel Houghton, T.I e Justin Timberlake. In nomination anche Christina Aguilera, Ludacris, Carrie Underwood.

L’unico cantante italiano in lizza è Zucchero con il brano You Are so Beautiful. Se dovesse aggiudicarsi il premio, Zucchero sarebbe il terzo italiano ad entrare nellalbo doro dei Grammy dopo la vittoria di Modugno nel lontano 1958 e di Laura Pausini nel 2006.
Nel ruolo di presentatori dei prestigiosi premi ci saranno le bellissime Beyoncè e Nelly Furtado, Gnarls Barkley, The Black Eyes Peas e Ciara.
